It should be noted that since the shadows are mapped, they ignore the opacity map on the leaves. Thus, each leaf actually casts a rectangular shadow.

This isn't easily discernible in this image because the shadows are mainly falling on other leaves, and their shape tends to conceal the rectangularity of the shadows. However, when placed in an environment, this artifact would become much more noticeable (particularly on the floor).
